EMCOR Group, Inc.

From ReportWarehouse, the free investment-report repository

EMCOR Group, Inc. is one of the largest specialty contractors in the United States, providing electrical and mechanical construction, building services, and industrial services through approximately 100 operating subsidiaries, with revenues of $16.99 billion in fiscal 2025. The company sits at the intersection of several of the most powerful capital-spending trends in the American economy: data center construction for AI and cloud computing, the reshoring of high-tech manufacturing, grid modernization, and the energy transition. It is asset-light, generates substantial free cash flow, and carries virtually no financial debt.

This is a story about a contractor that became a compounder. Five years ago, EMCOR was a $9.9 billion-revenue business earning 5% operating margins in a fragmented, cyclical industry. Today it generates double that revenue at double the margin, with a backlog that stretches years into the future. The file turns on a single question: how much of that transformation is structural and how much is cyclical — and whether the current valuation, at roughly 25 times trailing earnings, appropriately distinguishes between the two.
