Yum! Brands, Inc.

From ReportWarehouse, the free investment-report repository

Yum! Brands, Inc. is one of the world's largest quick-service restaurant companies, operating over 63,000 restaurants in 155 countries and territories through the KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Habit Burger & Grill brands, with 97% of its units franchised. In fiscal 2025, the company generated $8.21 billion in total revenue, $68.3 billion in system sales, and $1.56 billion in GAAP net income.

This is a story of asset-light compounding powered by three durable global brands and one standout American growth machine. KFC supplies the bulk of the unit base and international royalty stream; Taco Bell is the exceptional compounder in the U.S. market — eight consecutive quarters of industry-leading same-store sales growth, digital mix approaching 80%, and a clear path to higher average unit volumes. The central tension is whether Taco Bell's momentum and KFC's international development can continue to carry the portfolio's aggregate growth algorithm while Pizza Hut — flat revenue, declining operating profit, and an active strategic review — demands management attention and capital.

The file turns on two questions. First, can Taco Bell sustain its remarkable pace as it grows toward a $3 million AUV target without saturating the U.S. market or alienating its value-conscious core? Second, does the Pizza Hut strategic review — expected to conclude in 2026 — produce an outcome that refocuses the portfolio and unlocks value, or does it become a prolonged distraction? Yum! Brands is not a hidden gem; at roughly $40.6 billion in market capitalization and a TTM P/E of 23 times, the market already credits much of the Taco Bell story. The work is to understand what that multiple implies about the rest of the portfolio and what has to go right for the return to be attractive from here.
